Lead Java Developer REMOTE 6mo contract to hireDescription: Primary Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve software • Translate product concepts into project commitments that deliver incremental value to our customers frequently and with high quality • Mentor the engineering team through code reviews, and hands on design sessions. Required Qualifications: • 7+ years of coding experience with one or more of the follow languages Java, C#, C/C, Go, Python or JavaScript with a willingness and ability to learn new ones • Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals: unit testing, code reviews, telemetry, agile and DevOps • Experience working with three or more of the following: continuous integration / continuous delivery tools, REST API development, serverless architecture, containerization, IaC, public / private cloud, application observability and/or messaging / stream architecture • Experience with polyglot storage architectures including relational, columnar, key-value, graph or the like • Experience delivering applications using componentized and distributed architectures • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical, globally-distributed audiences • Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments • Experience delivering reusable components, patterns, tools • Solid understanding of formal architecture, design patterns and best practices • Experience in the health care industry • Experience working with Azure Public Cloud Can you please provide a summary of the project/initiative which describes whats being done? We are the API Platform team for client. As part of the broader HCP initiative of unlocking the data from all the disparate data sources throughout UHG, the HCP Graph/REST API aims to make it simple to expose HCP streaming data in one big relational/federated Graph/REST API. It provides a managed serverless environment for exposing HCP standard data from many sources / lines of business as APIs that are fast, safe, and effective.? What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)? We want to be as specific as possible with our firms so they can find the type of candidate you're looking for. Healthcare background would be ideal but open to other areas as well.?
