Leveraging skills and materials in an efficient manner within a repeatable process that quadrupled output applies to IT services today.Who We Need• A Senior Storage Engineer with broad legacy experience and the ability to lead and manage an effort to move one of our federal customers to the cloud• 1st tier manager whose customer expertise affords them the opportunity to solve customer problems• A solutions-oriented thinker with a cloud-first mindset.• A strong member of a multi-disciplinary team supporting a critical environment with a professional and steady demeanor.• A talented writer - someone who can organize information, write concisely, and develop fully articulated position papers and recommendations.• A detail-oriented thinker and plannerResponsibilities Include• Be a key member of a high performing team• Support mission-critical storage infrastructure in a Unix/Linux and Windows environment• Monitor and tune system to achieve optimum performance levels• Use customer communications tools and processes to effectively communicate with your team and project leadership• Analyze the storage environment and develop recommendations for tactical and strategic improvements. Operate with a continual improvement mindset.• Develop written work products including technical analyses, trade-studies, and periodic reports.• Develop monthly and quarterly artifacts in support of Service Level Agreement (SLA) reporting.• Interact on a daily basis with customer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to discuss the state of the storage environment as well as tactical and strategic requirements.• Be a member of an on-call rotation to ensure continuity of operations and respond to incidents that may arise.Required Experience, Skills, and Education:• 8+ years hands-on related technical experience • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field• Working various shifts as assigned• SAN management, using EMC and/or NetApp technologies.• Familiarity with configuring and testing Site Recovery Manager (SRM) in redundant, enterprise environments.• Experience configuring and managing DR replication to ensure the ability to rapidly recover systems during outage events.• Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data.• Create, delete, and manage LUNs.• Provision storage for use by virtual and physical servers and databases.• Provide storage support for Production, Test, and Development systems and applications• Configure and manage DR replication to ensure compliance with RTO and RPO targets.• Provide health and performance reporting and take appropriate actions based on trends in data.• Familiarity with standard backup architectures, methods and tools, including disk to disk and tape libraries.• Create, run, and troubleshoot backup jobs• Design Enterprise backup approach and manage Enterprise backup solution• Restore data at the file or image level• Experience installing, configuring, managing, patching, and updating virtual environments using VMWare 6.x and higher.• Working overtime as assigned [non-exempt employees only]• Physical requirements (lifting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, etc.)• Must be proximate to the primary customer work location in downtown Washington, D.C., and able to reach the site within 2 hours in the event of an emergency or outage.Pay Range:
