Are you ready to join our team?SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Senior Principal Architect provides technical leadership, as well as architectural governance guidance and is responsible ensuring multiple projects or programs are executing in harmony with existing technology architectural direction and company strategies.The Senior Principal Architect guides mid and junior level technologists in the design and development of solutions for complex application problems, API design, data services, platform services, cloud services and infrastructure services to meet user requirements and align to strategic goals and the Enterprise Architecture. The Senior Principal Architect continuously monitors technology trends, technology direction, including roadmaps of existing platforms to drive long-term technology platform decisions.The role will collaborate with both Service Owners and Business Users to drive architecture and technology decisions in accordance with Amtrak's strategies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide IT Security Architectural guidance based on Security Requirements and Corporate IT Architectural Standards • Serve as the Security Lead for multiple projects of varying complexity and size, help deliver security solutions for complex assignments and ensure projects are implemented through the Amtrak DevSecOps process in alignment with Amtrak Security Requirements and IT Architectural Standards • Research vendor solutions proposed by project teams and provide risk assessment. • Work with Enterprise Architecture team to provide secure alternatives to achieve project requirements. • Continuously developing, enhancing, and implementing enterprise wide security standards, procedures, and guidelines. • Creates technology plans and roadmaps working with senior members of the architecture and service owner's team • Consult service owners, IT business analysts, technology leads in the project planning processes • Works independently to create reference architectures in response to new business needs or technology obsolescence. • Works with IT Operations and Application development teams to determine appropriate development toolsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related eld with 9+ years relevant work experience or 13+ years of relevant work experience required to satisfy education and experience requirements. • 9 years of programming and/or systems analysis experience • 9 years' experience in solution or enterprise architecture • Ability to understand and use appropriate integration technologies • Possess in-depth knowledge of multiple business areas and is knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing architectures that incorporate business, data, and technology architectures • Demonstrated ability to synthesize solutions that incorporate multiple stakeholder viewpoints • Expertise in multiple IT disciplines in an enterprise environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's degree in computer related or complementary eld • Experience with the transportation industry • 11+ years of relevant work experience preferredCOMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.Requisition ID: 76026 Posting Location(s): District of Columbia; Alabama; Alaska; Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; Connecticut; Delaware; Florida; Georgia; Hawaii; Idaho; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Kansas; Kentucky; Louisiana; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; Mississippi; Missouri; Montana; N/A; Nebraska; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New Mexico; New York; North Carolina; North Dakota; Ohio; Oklahoma; Oregon; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; South Carolina; South Dakota; Tennessee; Texas; Utah; Vermont; Virginia; Washington; West Virginia; Wisconsin; Wyoming Job Family/Function: Information Technology Relocation Offered: No Travel Requirements: Up to 25% Amtrak employees power our progress through their performance.
