Please contact for details on this 100% REMOTE Sr. Network Engineer position supporting our manufacturing client headquartered in Ohio. Responsibilities

  • Works with technical teams to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements
  • Manages basic and expedited support to resolve all networking related issues
  • Troubleshoots and resolves all expedited issues impacting the customers' challenges and needs
  • Proactively communicates the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues
  • Monitors and reports the performance of network components against KPIs and takes preemptive measures to minimize interruptions
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency
  • Evaluates new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with businesses needs
  • Assist in day-to-day network operations being a 3rd level escalation for network engineers
  • Assist in Data Center related projects like Spine and Leaf technologies
Experience
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and printers
  • knowledge of routing and switching primarily using Cisco gear
  • knowledge in Data Center technologies using Cisco current technologies (7K/5K/2Ks)
  • Understand LAN and WAN technologies including proxy-services (Zscaler), SD-WAN (BGP, OSPF)
  • Available for unplanned work on weekends if there is a major disaster or event (DC down type situation)
  • Available to work on weekend for planned DC work when necessary (IOS Upgrades for instance)
  • Assist in Data Center related projects like Spine and Leaf technologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP
