Sr. Program Manager who manages an account(s) or significant project(s). Responsible for supporting and for smaller clients, managing the client relationship. Manages budget and revenue expectations and the implementation and ongoing execution of the contract. Works closely with account management team on generating sales opportunities and with the operations team on successful delivery of HMS services to the client. Job responsibilities include oversight and management of projects, analysis of data, building reports and creating and/or review of client deliverables.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Builds and manages client relationships with support from the Program Director; responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Oversight and management of small contracts, specific products/services of a contract or special projects
  • Builds relationships and collaborates effectively with HMS contract operations and implementations to ensure successful delivery of services to client(s).Assist in the creation and/or review of client deliverables
  • Works with client(s) to design project approach and develop implementation plans.
  • Continuous monitoring and timely reporting to management progress toward business goals.
  • Assist in the development of reports to monitor operational and financial performance
  • Prepares, monitors, and manages budget and revenue expectations for assigned client(s).
  • Identifies sources of revenue through process improvements, client relationships, local policy initiatives, and strategic agendas and partnerships
  • Identifies sales opportunities and assists the account management team with successful close of sale (including proposal development process)
  • Monitors state legislative (including MES and Modernization activity), regulatory, and competitive environment and alerts management to risks and opportunities.
  • May supervise additional account management staff (i.e. Program Specialist.)

Non-Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supports collaboration between account management team and operations staff.
  • Performs other functions as assigned

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data
  • Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 10 lbs.)
  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals
  • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs
  • May be required to travel at least 20% of time based on business needs

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • In lieu of degree, 5 years relevant work experience required with experience in one of the following areas preferred: Health insurance, Government, Client service/business to business, Healthcare policy, Project Management,
  • PMP Strongly Preferred or able to get certified within 6 months

Minimum Related Work Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional-level related business experience with strong project management skills and proven ability to track and manage multiple complex projects both internally and with client/vendor. Preferably in the healthcare market.
  • 5 years + account management experience required with experience in one of the following areas desired: Health Insurance, Government, Client Service/business to business, Health Policy
  • CMS or State Certification experience preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide deployment of systems or implementation solutions
  • 2+ years project management experience; 3+ years of demonstrated experience growing client revenue
  • Healthcare or Medicaid experience strongly preferred
