This is a Contract position and the client is looking for someone to start immediately. Duration: 6+ Months Contract Location: Remote/ Bethesda, MD Role: Java Developer with Testing Primary Skills: Java Role Description: The Java Developer with Testing must have at least 05+ years of experience. For this role, you must be a Software Engineer (J2EE Developer) with Automated testing experience. Responsibilities: - Develop, enhance, and maintain system software. - Interface with clients to gather business requirements and develop functional and technical specifications. - Design/develop new code and/or provide support for operation, maintenance, and enhancement. - Develop/update/maintain requirements, design specs, test results, and other support documents. - Communicate information effectively to customers, managers, and technical staff. - Work closely with management and technical lead for software development and maintenance. - Conduct multiple level of testing: unit, peer, integration, functional, system, regression, performance, load/stress, 508-complicancy. - Develop test cases based on requirements and lead testing efforts (functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, load and stress, 508-compliancy testing, etc.). - Develop regression test scripts. Desired Skills/Experience: - Experience in Java, RESTful services, Struts, Spring framework, Spring boot, Spring data, Spring security, and Thin server architecture - Knowledge of Federal timekeeping is highly desirable. - Knowledge of Spring Framework - Knowledge and experience of setting up and configuring Web server and App server. - Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server. - Knowledge and experience of Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems. - Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. - Industry Certifications and/or a bachelors degree from an accredited higher educational institution. - Knowledge of Vue.js, Angular.js is a plus Job Requirements: - Minimum of 5 years industry (hands-on) experience to work as a software engineer. - Must have a minimum of 3 years industry experience in software development including: Java, Java Server Pages, Microsoft Stored Procedures, SQL queries, JavaScript, HTMLs. - Must have a minimum of 2 years of system design experience. - Hands-on experience using integrated development environment (such as Intelli-J) and version control software (such as SVN). - Experience with Object Oriented Technologies. - Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation) - Experience working in agile or iterative SDLCs. - Experience with automation tools is highly desirable. - Experience with test management tools is highly desirable. - Experience with CI/CD and DevOps is desirable. - Demonstrated ability to conduct unit, peer, integration, functional testing. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure. - Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities. - Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. - Excellent problem-solving abilities.
