As an Ecommerce Application Administrator for the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), you will manage application configurations and work closely with internal staff and vendors to support the Navy Exchange Omni-Channel/e-Commerce program, which proudly provides quality products and services at a savings to active and retired service-members and their families. Job Summary: Serves as the application administrator for a variety of software applications running on various hardware environments.

Duties/Responsibilities: Technical Duties and Responsibilities • Designs, develops, installs and configures application software for mission critical retail systems using state of the art tools and programming languages. • Sets/manages application parameters and configurations. • Troubleshoots technical application and integration problems and coordinates resolution with other support groups. • Monitors application performance; makes recommendations to improve and works with other support groups to analyze issues and coordinate resolutions. • Monitors and tunes batch jobs. • Produces and maintains operational and procedural documentation on internal application systems and integrations. • Obtains system reports to check for opportunities for improvement and errors. Assesses/analyzes errors and distinguishes between databases, application and customized application problems for follow-up and resolution. • Monitors, coordinates and installs vendor provided systems applications software patches, cyclical releases and major upgrades. • Performs impact analysis on all patches prior to installation. • Provides technical support for interfaces between internal and external systems. • Sets up and maintains user accounts. • Responds to Service Desk Requests within the parameters set forth by NEXCOM service level agreements. • Ensures/implements Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software). Communication Duties and Responsibilities • Technical liaison between application vendors, database administrators and systems administrators for application functionality and configuration. Additional Duties and Responsibilities • Assists in implementation of security strategy for the application based on requirements. • Assists with developing strategy for the installation of major releases. • Assists in providing supporting documentation for systems. • Performs other related duties as assigned. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years experience in administrative, technical or investigative work which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes required to perform technical, managerial or analytical work involving management information systems.

OR

SUBSTITUTION OF EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in the following: Configuring application parameters and tuning for continued system performance. Troubleshooting application bugs from system logs and debugging tools. Execution of technical/operations tasks from documentation. UNIX/ Linux and Windows Operating System experience a plus. Basic database SQL writing (Oracle SQL experience a plus) Cybersecurity Workforce Certifications Requirements This position is designated IT-2 (Non-critical Sensitive) and has been designated as Cyber IT/CSWF position in specialty area 45. Incumbents of this position are required to meet the following requirements: Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix; Participate annually in 20 hours of continuous learning activities. Possess and/or maintain current, one of the following credentials: Education (at least one of the following): A degree from a qualifying program from accredited university Certification: NEXCOM preferred certification is CompTIA Security . Possess or obtain Operating System/Computing Environment Certificate A Signed Privileged Access Statement Candidates without the required Certification maybe placed into this job, but must obtain the required Certification within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain this requirement will result in termination of employment. If employment is terminated within the probation period, the candidate will be required to reimburse NEXCOM for any certification and certification examination expenses.
