The Manager, Data Engineering will be responsible for building the new Data Architecture at our direct client - an insurance industry client located in Oldwick, NJ. The manager will be hands-on, innovative and passionate about leveraging cutting-edge/cloud native technologies to build data solutions. Client is open to a Lead Data Engineer who wants to grow into a management role

Offering salary to $130K plus 10% bonus and benefits and a great team to work with. Responsibilities: Build and manage the new single version of truth data architecture preferably on Azure / AWS.: Lead development of data pipelines and data services.: Collaborate and work closely with DevOps, IT, infrastructure and product teams to identify and build new data requirements.: Create and manage documentation on data dictionary, data architecture and metadata.: Help develop and create great engineering and organizational practices.: Gather information from business stakeholders and convert these into technical requirements.: Build, mentor and manage future data engineering team.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related area of study.: 3+ years of experience leading a team of data engineers or data analysts.: 5+ years of experience working with both relational: Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL or equivalent and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, DocumentDB, Cassandra or equivalent.: 5+ years of experience with ETL/ELT: using any of the following or equivalent: Informatica, CloverDx, SSIS, Apache NiFi, Airflow, Spark, Talend, Kaafka, Oracle Integrator, etc.: 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following of the following: Python, R, Scala, Java, VB.NET, C#, C.: 3+ years of experience in creating APIs / "data-as-a-service" layer for data ingestion.: 2+ years of experience working on analytics platforms: Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, Vertica, Greenplum or similar.: 2+ years of AWS / Azure experience working on one or more of the cloud native technologies like S3, AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Azure Blob, Athena, Azure functions, Cosmos DB, Azure data factory.: 2+ years of experience working on reporting tools: Cognos, Tableau, Qlikview, SSRS, PowerBI a plus.Skills: Experience working with one or more of the data modeling tools: ERWin, ER Studio, etc.: Knowledge of any of the data warehouse methodologies: Dimensional (Kimball), Data Vault, Inmom.: Experience creating a data lake using S3, Azure Blob, Hadoop or similar platforms.: Working knowledge of containers: dockers, kubernetis.: Knowledge of graph databases: Neo4J, AWS Neptune.: Experience with one or more of the following: Redis, Memcache, Elasticsearch.Vertex Solutions Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, religion, age, citizenship, sex, marital or veteran status, disability or handicap, sexual orientation or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.Vacancy expired!
