Incumbency:This position will have an 18-month incumbency period, beginning on the effective date of the position, which must be met before the employee can post for any other lateral State Farm position. Employees may be considered for leadership or Technology Engineer openings at any time, and a promotional position within the same job structure (i.e. Professional/Technical or Para-professional/Support) after 6 months from the effective date of the position. In these cases, the remaining incumbency would be waived. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.

ResponsibilitiesThe Oracle Product team is seeking an Infrastructure Analyst - Oracle DBMS - with the passion and skills to provide high level service support to business partners utilizing the Oracle DBMS and Oracle Exadata Environment. We are looking for a highly motivated individual driven to find solutions that meets technical capability needs, business partner needs, and aligns with the enterprise direction for database management systems and platform strategy. Oracle DBMS is the environment utilized for P&C Modernization, Life Modernization and Billing/Payments Modernization, along with approximately 40 other business applications.This is a fast-paced, critical environment that will provide service and support to multiple critical business work efforts. This individual will be working with product teams to meet their database needs while also ensuring the platform is as stable, available and secure as possible. We add value to the enterprise by providing stakeholders with a database environment they can count on. This individual will work with the Oracle DBAs to identify security vulnerabilities, fix vulnerabilities, and automate both IA and DBA work. The duties and responsibilities of the Infrastructure Analyst - Oracle DBMS include but are not limited to the following:
  • The ability to provide Oracle Linux support in the environments utilized by the Oracle Product Team.
  • The ability to work with Oracle Support on Oracle Service Requests
  • The ability to troubleshoot problems
  • The ability to monitor performance of all Engineered System environments
  • The ability to complete any State Farm Infrastructure changes to the environment, including any tasks with IaaS Server patches and Data Center Network changes.
  • The ability to complete any Risk and Compliance findings that pertain to the environment/platform.
  • The ability to automate manual tasks for both Infrastructure Analyst and assist with automating manual tasks for the Oracle DBAs.
  • The ability to proactively monitor for potential vulnerabilities with the Oracle environment.
