With commercial, international and private banking services, SVB helps address the unique needs of innovators SVB Bank is looking for a motivated, talented, and experienced Sr. Director for the SVB API Portal, who is passionate about innovation, to help us build and run a highly efficient, scalable, and customizable API Developer Portal for our services. To keep up with rapidly growing demand, we need leaders who are experienced at scaling their team, their services, and themselves. In addition to help drive the business outcomes, the director - API Experience & Integrations role requires deep engagement with customer requirements, product design and product roadmaps, engineering and architecture, and operations and management of the service. A successful candidate will have owned engineering teams and strong relationships with product / customers and have a strong track record of delivering both features and operational excellence (availability, scalability, and performance) You will lead the overall developer & integration experience with-in the API Center of Enablement and partner very closely with engineering groups with-in the C4E as well as business engineering teams. You will lead the C4E in partnering with product / business / design teams to drive the envisioning, build & execution of overall developer & integration experience. The function will expand to include all SVB entities as our API footprint grows. You will work very closely with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to drive our holistic product strategy for the SVB developer & overall integration experience.Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology transformation consulting experience, including implementation experience with one or more common integration or middleware solutions and/or API Management Solutions
  • 5+ years experience as an Enterprise Architect and/or digital architect (or like role)
  • Be a self-starter and ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, and willingness to take ownership of situations and problems.
  • Evangelize best practices at various levels within a large organization
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders (C-Suite to engineering teams) with compelling Points of View from empathetic, yet determined, customer interactions
  • Able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience and engage in vigorous Q&A with customers
  • Proven results leading and overseeing customer and/or partner success in the following domains: front-end and back-end solution architecture, enterprise architecture, development, and test/release management strategies, change management, and direct leadership in designing solutions that meet or exceed customer needs
  • Track record of continuous learning of new technologies, as well as leading projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies.
  • Preferred Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or in a related field. Bachelor's degree and those with non-traditional but similar proven experiences may also apply.
  • Design and implement solutions to address business problems in various industry verticals.
  • Create approach notes, roadmap and product comparison/fitment matrix for the customer requirements
  • Drive Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Technology(POT) evaluation on interoperable technology platforms
  • Train and mentor developers towards solution development and POC/POT execution
  • Support presales engineering activities for Apigee and other API Management RFPs
