It's all part of what makes #MyRichmondFed a great place to work!About the Opportunity:Our National IT Capacity Management team has an immediate opening for a Data Analyst / Engineer to assist our team as we move forward toward Cloud-based technologies. Our team's role is to deliver infrastructure Capacity recommendations, analysis, and reporting to Business areas throughout the Federal Reserve System and we are looking to improve upon our existing data collection and analytics solutions by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies that are part of a next generation data / analytics ecosystem for supporting Capacity Management; focusing on Dependability, Optimization, and improved Elasticity for the Federal Reserve's infrastructure.What You Will Do:

  • Develop scalable Business Intelligence and Visualization solutions and utilize tools to support Infrastructure Capacity Management, Optimization, and Elasticity.
  • Develop and help execute continual improvement methodologies throughout the Capacity space.
  • Create automated systems to connect to data sources, extract, transform and structure data sources.
  • Develop and support machine learning, statistical machine learning models, and other advanced analytic techniques to help IT teams provide better business outcomes.
  • Utilize a working knowledge of public Cloud systems such as AWS and Azure to develop internal Capacity Management analytic tools
  • Execute ad hoc data investigation as part of requirements gathering or for one off requests.
  • Visualize capacity related data utilizing leading edge BI tools.
  • Utilize available tools, including Cloud-based services, for automation of manual processes, as well as for Analysis and Visualization.
  • Productionalize and maintain innovative dashboards, reports, and visualizations using DevSecOps methodologies for continuous improvement of toolsets supporting Capacity Management.
  • Investigate available data sources for relevant information. If necessary, make recommendations for updates for processes for improved data gathering.
  • Engages and builds trust with customer, application owner, and engineering to help understand future capacity needs and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Work with a broader team operating under Agile and SAFe principles.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 4-6 years experience working with data visualization, analytic solutions, or data-centric development
  • Data Engineering experience - data mining, data integration, data modeling, scripting
  • Predictive analytics (ML / AI) - proven ability to build data driven recommendations with actionable insights through the use/creation and analysis of predictive models
  • Prior experience with Capacity Management or Performance Management is highly valued
  • Experience utilizing and/or supporting IT Management toolsets, particularly for Capacity or Performance Management is highly valued
  • Strong statistics and mathematical knowledge
  • Experience building dashboards, and reports with BI solutions such as Tableau, Power BI, AWS QuickSight, etc.
  • Experience/Expertise with AWS, Azure, or other cloud provider; Cloud Certification desired
  • Experience/Expertise working with DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines, formal software testing, and CI/CD for code development
  • Exposure/Experience with logging and log analysis solutions such as Splunk or ELK
  • Experience/Expertise with Python, as well as experience with analytic and ML libraries such as pandas, NumPY, and scikit-learn; or equivalent experience with R language
  • Experience/Expertise with SQL and/or other data-centric query tools; database administration experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and logic skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Able to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects based on business impact
  • Takes initiative to utilize and recommend tools, data collection processes, and data management systems
  • Proven ability to work productively and efficiently in an independent setting
