This position can be filled at Infrastructure Services Engineer Advisor, Infrastructure Services Engineer Senior, or Infrastructure Services Engineer II level. The hiring manager will determine the level, based on the candidate's experience and background.

Infrastructure Services Engineer Advisor Performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides first level engineering design functions.
  • Develops complex solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications.
  • Designs, leads or plans complex implementations for systems and networks; develops testing plans to ensure quality of implementation.
  • Assists in the definition of architecture standards and anticipate areas where architecture standards may need to be developed that are in-line with customer, IT and industry standards.
  • Validates the detailed architecture requirements for an application/technology to conform to the current and target architecture and standards.
  • Oversees enterprise mix of vendor services; recommends changes and updates to strategy; may act a key contact for setting vendor strategy.

Infrastructure Services Engineer Senior Please Note: Associates in this job working from a California location are eligible for overtime pay based on California employment law. Performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Creates solution designs that address mildly complex solutions to address business needs.
  • Develops standard solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications.
  • Designs complex system and network upgrades.
  • Validates the detailed architecture requirements for an application/technology to conform to the current and target architecture and standards.
  • Consults to projects and application support groups regarding architecture concerns.
  • Designs and analyzes mix of vendor services meeting business requirements.
  • Performs capacity analysis.

Infrastructure Services Engineer II Performs analysis and research of systems and networks. Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides second level component design and simple solution design; creates solutions that solve randomly occurring problems.
  • Performs design tasks for systems and networks based on business requirements.
  • Designs standard and repetitive network and system upgrades.
  • Helps define the detailed architecture requirements for an application/technology to conform to the current architecture and standards.
  • Consults to projects and application support groups regarding architecture concerns. Designs and configures vendor services orders for repetitive services and oversees implementation.
Qualifications

Infrastructure Services Engineer Advisor

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study with a minimum of 5 years experience in a support and operations or design and engineering role in any of the following areas: servers, networks, telecommunication, operating systems, middleware, disaster recovery, collaboration technologies, hardware/software support; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • ZOS system programming and related toolset experience and/or understanding
    • RACF
    • JES2
    • CA7/ControlM
    • IMS
    • CICS
    • Clist/REXX
    • IBM Utilities (IE: IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICKDSF)
  • Storage Management - IBM DASD and Virtual tape and related toolset knowledge and/or experience
    • DFSMS/HSM/RMM/DSS
    • OAM
    • CA-Vantage
    • IBM Tivoli storage suite (IE:TACM, TAO)
    • Copy Services Manager (Global Mirror)

Infrastructure Services Engineer Senior

Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Multiple trade certifications strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ZOS system programming and related toolset experience and/or understanding
    • RACF
    • JES2
    • CA7/ControlM
    • IMS
    • CICS
    • Clist/REXX
    • IBM Utilities (IE: IEBGENER, IDCAMS, ICKDSF)
