We are seeking a savvy Data Engineer to join the marketing team. Develop and optimize data and data pipeline architecture, and data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The Data Engineer will support our platform leads, business analysts, and executive team on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. Initially, the Data Engineer will help the team map define the marketing journey for prospects/customers in alignment with key business, reporting, and advanced analytics use-cases. Capture requirements from business users; translate those requirements into use-cases and then map the data requirements for an upcoming data migration. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of teams, systems, and products.Duties• Define the critical data requirements involved in defining the prospect/customer journey.• Define data and integration requirements.• Capture and map data from all relevant data sources.• Assemble complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional requirements.• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.• Build analytics tools and reporting solutions that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.• Work with stakeholders to advise on data technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.• Work with data and analytics experts to enhance overall data engineering.• Contribute to the definition of data provisioning and governance requirements.• Keep data secure and in compliance with corporate standards. • Translate end-user needs into data integration requirements and manage these projects.• Interface regularly with marketing and sales users to gather business requirements and devise solutions that support end-to-end processes• Documentation of new and existing data processes• Develop supporting QA processes and systems.• Provide Ad-hoc reporting to meet client specificationsDesired Qualifications5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. • Experience using the following software/tools:- Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. - Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.- Experience with cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift.• Experience with Microsoft SQL server, coding, and programming experience• Ability to initiate a project and follow it through to conclusion• Ability to work independently and in a team• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Translate end-user needs into data integration requirements • Analysis, design, and development of traditional data warehouse and business intelligence solutions • Work with marketing stakeholders to understand and execute on their requirements• Manage projects by setting clear schedule requirements up front (allowing for time in the schedule for testing, validation, and feedback.) • Build data flows for data warehousing• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements.• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related requirement gathering, anticipate technical issues and support data migration to a new infrastructure.• Interface regularly with marketing and sales users to gather business requirements and devise solutions that support end-to-end processesNice to Have• Agile proficiency/SAFe certification• Marketing domain subject matter expertise
