This role is in Cheyenne, WY. Relocation offeredDISH is seeking an innovative and passionate Linux Engineer to join a team that manages the on-premise hardware/virtualization/OS/applications for the DISH Network conditional access systems. This position provides an opportunity to learn Docker and Kubernetes administration.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer and manage server hardware, virtualization, and Linux OSs
  • Ensure high availability of conditional access applications in dev/test/prod environments
  • Work with engineering teams to deploy new features and upgrades
  • Manage system monitoring and alerting tools
  • Create and maintain technical documents and procedures

Must be willing to be located, and on site in Cheyenne, WY. Relocation Offered.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science or a related technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years experience performing Linux system administration
  • 3+ years working in a virtualized (VMware) Linux server environment
  • Scripting proficiency: Bash, Python, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong desire to automate tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience administering Elastic Stack or Splunk
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience with SaltStack, Ansible, ArgoCD, Helm
  • Experience with Active Directory/Centrify
