Potential for Remote Work: No Description S AIC is currently looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to apart of our team in San Diego, CA. The successful Candidate will provide engineering and documentation support for the Engineering team at the customer location. Efforts will be focused toward COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) integration for the military network systems. Responsibilities and Duties include: - Design and documentation of equipment cabinets, equipment mounting kits, and equipment subassemblies. - Create detailed drawings/designs using Solidworks 3D CAD software. - Work with senior engineers to create designs and drawings. - Perform fit-check/quality assurance on prototype metal assemblies and support production activities. - Solid model creation/modification. - Maintain configuration management of engineering drawings and technical data package elements (Generating an Incorporating ECN's). - Generate detailed Cable fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and assembly work instructions using MS Word. Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar STEM field and 2 years of experience - An Interim DoD Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance - Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in using Solidworks software to create 3D models and associated drawings. - Experience in the use of 2D drafting AutoCAD software. - Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint - Strong technical, interpersonal, written and verbal skills are a must. - Candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a team environment and able to take direction and constructive criticism. Desired Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year cumulative experience in the design and fabrication of electronic enclosures and rack mount equipment. - Working knowledge of ASME Drawing Requirements Manual (DRM) including ASME Y14.5 and other industry documentation standards desired. - Experience in the development of EIA enclosures desired. - Familiarity with military technical drawing creation, review, and change control. - Familiarity with military environmental test standards desired.
