Software Development SupervisorThis position may work remotely from their home; however, they must live in one of the states where the client operates, including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska or Texas

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an area of specialization in Information Systems or related field
  • 6+ years of software development experience
  • 4+ years as a project leader on multiple projects and projects of medium or greater size, complexity and impact
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills, demonstrated ability to lead problem solving efforts
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the software development process and methodology, and the demonstrated ability to apply to completion of difficult assignments
  • Ability to accomplish difficult tasks and make decisions with minimal supervision/review by others
  • 4+ years’ experience with using the Microsoft suite tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
  • Ability to accomplish difficult tasks and make decisions with minimal supervision/review by others
  • Project leadership skills, demonstrated ability to lead projects that are large in size, complexity and impact
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple development activities simultaneously
  • Supervision skills, demonstrated ability to lead and direct staff for projects assigned
  • Ability to provide training /direction to less experienced staff
  • Available to provide on-call support 24 hours per day, 7 days a week as needed
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs

Core Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Business Systems Manager and supervisors to review project priority, status and resource utilization making necessary adjustments to meet timelines
  • Set performance objectives, develop skills, hold staff accountable for goals, develop improvement plans as needed, and provided development planning
  • Test and/or coordinate the testing of programs to meet specifications and departmental guidelines
  • Research process/functions to problem solve/define needs and communicate specifications with the programmer assigned to the task
  • Develop programs, following departmental guidelines, which meet requirements defined in specifications then test and modify until they run as specified
  • Provide input with other leaders on cost benefit analyst, proposals, work processes while being a role model of the company vision and values
