Experienced Tax Accountant / CPA

Langel & Associates, P.C. is seeking an experienced tax accountant / CPA with at least three seasons of tax preparation experience. Our firm offers many opportunities for professional development, specialized training, and future advancements. Langel & Associates, P.C. is a full service accounting firm offering services in the areas of tax preparation, tax consulting and compliance, compiled and reviewed financial statements, bookkeeping and payroll administration, accounting system setup and consulting, management consulting, business valuations, litigation support, retirement plan administration, and estate and succession planning. We are a smaller firm of approximately fifteen people.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting and CPA; or four year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Strong computer skills including extensive use of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various staff, clients, and outside reporting jurisdictions

Attention to detail and accuracy

Analytical, technical, organizational, and problem solving skills

Ability to work well in a team and independently

Ability to multi-task

Flexibility to work additional hours as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for Individuals, Partnerships, Corporations, Non-Profits, Trusts and Estates

Prepare and review work papers, trial balances, adjusting journal entries, depreciation schedules, book to tax differences

Prepare and review tax estimates

Provide QuickBooks services

Prepare and review personal property tax returns

Prepare and review year end 1099’s

Research and apply tax law to completed and/or contemplated transactions

Maintain required level of technical knowledge
