OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an individual to fill our Associate Applications Engineer position. Candidate is responsible for the design, configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning of commercial Security, Fire, and Communication systems. Primary responsibilities for this position are within the Company’s Security Division. PowerComm provides a wide range of security applications, including: Access Control, Video Management, Intrusion, and Intercom Systems. The ideal candidate should have experience with Information Technology and physical security as it relates to its applications, hardware, infrastructure, and installations. The position reports directly to the Senior Applications Engineer.

POSITIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

PowerComm Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Associate Applications Engineer within our Reno, Nevada Office. Responsibilities include:

- Participate in all, or phases of an electronic systems implementation life cycle: analyze, design, build, configure, integrate, test, commission, and support.

- Coordinate with Company and Customer's IT Staff to properly, and timely setup and configure Networks (LAN/WAN) as they apply to the operation of systems, and to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.

- Investigate new system technologies and applications to better serve the Company and its customer's needs.

- Work with Company Technicians to setup and install systems hardware and related infrastructure.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve logical and physical systems issues.

- Provide end-user and staff support and training.

- Assist with sales related to systems, support, and service.

- Assist with Field Surveys for upcoming project estimates.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must have proven experience in several of the following disciplines:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred, but not required; other considerations will be an Associate Degree or related work experience.

- Other Certificates or degrees within the Commercial Security, Fire, and Communications industries.

- A working knowledge of network architecture and functionality including, relevant working knowledge of various products; such as, Microsoft Sever, VM Ware, and Linux.

- Experience with physical security system applications, infrastructure, hardware installations, and systems integration. The same type of experience with Commercial Fire and Communication Systems are a plus.

- Experience and knowledge working with database architecture and reporting, system platform administration, crystal reports, and SharePoint.

- Excellent mechanical skills required to install and maintain systems hardware and infrastructure.

- Proficient systems troubleshooting and resolution abilities at the application, hardware, and infrastructure levels.

- Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the electronics industry.

- Willing and able to be on call to support emergency situations that may arise on any day, at any time.

- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

- Excellent computer and advanced Microsoft Office aptitudes.

- Must clear a background/credit check, drug test, and have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
