Assist new members in the achievement of their fitnessgoals. Assess the member’s fitness needs, as well as designing andexecuting a workout program and instructing them on the proper use ofequipment. Our trainers and instructors will lead, instruct, and motivateindividuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascularstrength training, water aerobics or other fitness classes. You will workwith people of 18 years or older and all skill levels. If hired as aPersonal Trainer, you will consult with the member and track theirprogress throughout the fitness program, helping them achieve their goalssafely and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: High School DiplomaPreferred: Undergraduate degree (or currently working towards adegree)

Major

Required: N/APreferred: Kinesiology, Exercise Science, AEP, Pre-PT, Recreation andLeisure Studies

Experience

Required: At least 6 months experience working in ahealth club, gym or other related activityPreferred: N/A

Skills

Required: Punctuality and reliabilityPreferred: Strong listener with the ability to empathize andproblem solve. Exceptional customer service skills.

Licensure/Certifications

Required: Nationally Accredited FitnessCertification (i.e. Personal Training, Group Fitness or SpecialtyCertification) Training Certificate must be presented with ResumePreferred: Certification in pool safety and related pooland/or gym experience highly preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

ESSENTIAL

Consult with members regarding their fitness goals andmedical concerns/limitations and design personalized exercise regimens.Help build a successful client based membership.

Planand organize classes and membership drives. Develops/Assists members withworkouts: demonstrates equipment in gym/pool, determines correctadjustments for individual and suggests starting weights and reps forindividual. Reviews progress by charting and varying workouts asindicated and is accessible at all times to members.

WorkBehavior: responsible, reliable and honest in all member interactions andassigned tasks; demonstrates flexibility in job tasks; promotes goodhealth and wellness to others by example.

Equipmentmaintenance: disinfects machines daily; keeps litter picked up in allwork areas; puts soiled towels in hamper; maintains an adequate supply oftowels in pool bathrooms; cleans tiles and keeps pool area clean duringopen swim and reports any additional environmental issues to appropriatestaff.

PhysicalDemands: continually standing and walking during shift, continuallytalking in person or on phone during shift, must be able to physicallydemonstrate use of each piece of equipment.

Communication:encourages, educates and assists members with workouts; informs membersif exercise is being performed incorrectly; protects confidentiality ofall members and exhibits excellent customer service at all times.

Memberand personal safety: demonstrates proper body mechanics when performingtasks; maintains presence during open pool/gym; monitors all clientsduring open times; reports any safety issues to supervisor, seekingassistance when necessary, utilizes PPE as necessary.

Clericalresponsibilities: maintains member records; performs other clericalduties as requested.

Professionalgrowth: maintains proper CPR certification, Continuing Educationrequirements for National Certification and in house Water SafetyTraining.

Workflexible hours required for classes, clients and the success of thebusiness.

OTHER

Performs other duties as assigned to meet theorganization`s needs.
