Accounts Receivable Specialist/Accountant

DescriptionOur client located in The Woodlands is looking to add an analytical, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to their team on a Temporary to Full-time basis beginning immediately! The Accounts Receivable Specialist will report to the Accounting Manager and must have a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in full cycle accounts receivable, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. The hours are full-time Monday through Friday from 8-5 PM and the position could lead into a permanent role offering a competitive salary and benefits package! Prepare, verify, and process invoices

Enter data on invoices; ensure proper coding

Collect on accounts by sending invoice reminders and communicate with customers via phone, email, fax or mail

Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and entering them into accounting software

Prepare and process cash transactions

Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Verify the validity of account discrepancies

Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries and or credit memos

Quarterly inventory

Account reconciliations

Month end close

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

5+ years of recent full cycle accounts receivable experience

Month end close experience

Sage software highly preferred

Excellent customer service, negotiation skills

Strong attention to detail
