Your OpportunityIn Corporate Risk Management (CRM), our mission is to execute an independent and coordinated risk management program that supports delivery of predictable long-term financial and operational performance in order to produce successful client and shareholder outcomes. In CRM’s Technology Risk Management (TRM), we support CRM’s mission across handling information and technology risks to protect client assets, client information and firm assets.Our TRM’s Change & Configuration Risk Management team is seeking an experienced Managing Director to accelerate the organization’s success. In a second line of defense capacity, you will have responsibility for implementing and governing the firm’s technology risk management framework. You will work in a multi-functional team in conducting effective independent risk oversight in the Change Management and Configuration Management areas.What you’re good at

Hire, motivate and mentor a team of senior risk managers to achieve organizational goals

Develop, execute and monitor departmental goals and objectives to improve the maturity of the risk posture

Guide a team to execute Schwab’s risk management process of risk identification & assessment, response, measurement & monitoring, and reporting & escalation

Lead a team who assess 1st line of defense’s consistency to firm policies, standards, and standard methodologies by conducting periodic risk assessments.

Deliver risk reporting to management and risk committees, with an eye to continuous improvement

Engage effectively with other leaders to challenge 1st line of defense’s identification & assessment outcomes

Provide oversight of RCSAs

Independently measure and monitor material risks

Lead the development and/or maturity of metrics (business unit RAMs and KRIs)

Provide support and address requests from Audit (IAD) and regulators

Collaborate with leadership and management in 1st and 2nd line technology groups business units

Provide knowledge of industry control frameworks and standard methodologies

What you have

7+ years’ experience in Information Security and Technology (including network, mainframe, and host security) with expertise in the areas of Change Management and Configuration Management

7+ years’ experience in performing risk assessments, testing IT security requirements against systems, and quantifying risk to management

Ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of risk management program execution and best practices

Validated background in building effective techniques to reduce risk

An understanding of TRM measures and controls

Experience with the implementation of TRM frameworks

Demonstrated track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders in TRM and assessment programs

Superb communication skills and ability to clearly communicate technical risk information across all levels of the organization

Experience in the evaluation of audit reports, assessment outcomes, and regulatory exams to identify risks & gaps, and determining the appropriate risk response

An understanding of information security and control frameworks, standards and industry documentation (e.g., NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, COBIT, ITIL)

An understanding of meaningful information security regulations (e.g., SOX, PCI, Financial regulations, HIPAA, GLBA, NACHA, Data Privacy)

CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS GIAC, or equivalent certifications

BS degree in related fields (Cybersecurity, Computer Science, etc.)
