Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:Provide leadership and technical expertise for development and support of Web based operations and collections applications on Java and Cloud technologies. This person will support mission critical systems and project delivery that directly impacts business success. This individual will also work directly with business resources and be responsible to lead and mentor multiple Build and Run teams of GDC resources.Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for the development and support of web applications using microservices and cloud technologies.

Work closely with Synchrony and Supplier technical resources and product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed software components.

Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and provide recommendations to the development team.

Drive root cause analysis and ensure consistently high availability for the business to ensure they meet their objectives.

Implement best practices for Scrum Agile development.

Identify new opportunities to drive system improvements and simplifications through innovation.

Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and technology standards.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience on Java, J2EE, Web Services (SOAP, REST), jQuery, Struts, Hibernate and Spring.

2+ years’ experience in designing and developing applications using microservices architecture and cloud technologies like Springboot, PCF/AWS, Maven, BitBucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Angular, Bootstrap and Splunk.

2+ years of shell scripting and Oracle DB or MySQL experience.

2+ year experience in agile software development practices.

Good understanding of SDLC processes and release management processes.

Proven analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Superior oral and written communication

Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies

Desired Characteristics:

Strong working knowledge of the Financial Industry and Consumer Lending.

Ability to achieve results in a cross-functional matrix organization involving multiple technologies, personnel and processes.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Training and/or Certification in JEE, Cloud, microservices and web-based technologies.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 52,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD AnnualSalaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.Grade/Level: 09Job Family Group:Information Technology
