Full Charge Bookkeeper

DescriptionAccountemps has an excellent opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. If you excel at multitasking, communication, organization, and time management, this opportunity with the potential for growth could be for you. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. This short-term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in La Marque, Texas.What you get to do every single day

Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

Maintaining historical records by filing documents

Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Requirements

3+ years of bookkeeping experience

Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

Background in payroll preferred

A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting

Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Prior experience with Excel, Quickbooks, and/or SAGE

Can work independently with minimal supervision

Solid understanding of account reconciliation

Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
