We are looking for a uniquely qualified individual who can take our robust safety program to the next level. We need a person who cares deeply about keeping people safe in the workplace. We need someone who will take the time to get to know each position in our facility, the individuals who work in those positions, and their specific job hazards. We want someone in this position who cares about documenting training, educating our workers on safety initiatives and on the job hazards. This position is not for someone who just wants a job – safety needs to be their calling and they must have a passion for keeping workers safe. We need someone who can creatively use their skills and talent to inspire safety in every employee in our company and take the time to document policies, training, incidents, audits and all other required OSHA regulations.
Every employee in our company counts and we are counting on the individual in this safety position to further build upon the safety culture in place. We have a robust safety program in place that this position will administer. You must possess good writing and communication skills, good computer skills, great phone skills; you must be organized and efficient. Working with others to inspire safety and achieve common safety goals is a must.
Essential Functions:
Monthly Safety Training
Weekly Tool Box Postings
Monthly Safety Team Meeting
Upkeep of robust JHAW file and individual JHAW training
Annual LOTO Training for affected and non-affected persons
Hearing Conservation Program Administration
Voluntary Respirator Program
Forklift Training Program
Upkeep of SDS file and training
Right to Know Training
Individual SDS training
Twice Monthly plant safety audits
Quarterly fire audits
CPR/FIRST AID/Bloodborne Pathogen Training
Annual Welding Training
New Hire Safety Orientation and Training
Audit of Maintenance Safety Program to ensure compliance

Required Qualifications:
Formal training in an accredited two-year or 4 year course in Safety.
