JOB TYPE: Part-Time with a Possibility of Becoming Full-Time after 6 Months
SALARY: Depending on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Assistant position will work directly with the Development Coordinator and report directly to the Dept. Manager. The Development Coordinator’s primary function is to expand and strengthen Willamette Family’s donor base and community outreach by reaching out to existing as well as potential donors (group or individuals) and organizing various events to raise funds. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide direct assistance and perform any ad hoc assigned tasks. This position also requires attending various community-sponsored events and gatherings to develop and establish community relationships and/or making presentations that promote the agency’s programs and services. A secondary function of this position is to help/assist the department with graphic design related tasks as well as setting up video production equipment and shooting. Basic knowledge in website development, photo editing and shooting is a plus. The chosen candidate will be trained extensively of the functions and responsibilities to successfully meet the requirements from this position. The chosen candidate should be able to confidently perform assigned tasks at the end of 3 months period.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn and get familiarize with the department’s efforts and strategies for community outreach and fund-raising events
Assist in reaching out to prospective donors and community partners to expand donor base
Assist with graphic design related task when needed
Create digital contents that align with WF values and mission to be posted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Assist in developing/maintaining relationship with community partners and donors
Setting up and tearing down cameras, audio recorders, lighting, microphones, and props
Assist in making personal courtesy calls to existing/potential donors to share agency progress and to offer more information if needed
Attend various meetings/gatherings to establish relationship and expand community outreach
Knowledge of Hootsuite, or other social media management and analytics is a plus
Must have excellent customer service skills to interact with clients or potential donors who reach out via social media for information
Assist in searching for various available grants when necessary
Performs all/other task assigned by the Development Coordinator and Dept. Manager when needed
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to self-manage and prioritize daily schedules as well as the ability to work effectively in a collaborative style with team members
Ability to read/understand vendor training materials
Excellent writing ability
Flexibility in responding to the changing needs and requirements
Ability to do some public speaking and presentation
Ability to manage time and meet tight deadlines
Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork
Ability to learn HIPAA and 42CFR laws and how they apply to accessing data within a software system
Experience taking photos and videos
Experience setting up lights, a/v equipment in a photo/video studio set up
Working in the studio as part of a production team
Creativity and attention to detail
Experience handling/maintaining digital equipment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and fundraising program
Knowledge of community resources
Office working hours – Can be arranged
Consistent attendance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
If recovering from alcohol/drug addiction must provide documentation of sobriety for a minimum of two years and must be in a program recovery
AA degree or above
Ability to effectively multi task
Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License
Must pass a required criminal records background check
Must adhere to the agency’s non-discrimination policy
