One of the top "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay is looking for our next Quality Control Technician for our afternoon shift! This is a full-time position, located in Santa Rosa, CA. Schedule is: Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 1:00 am.

The ideal candidate will be able to roll his/her sleeves up and work in our food production lab to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, batches in process, and finished goods. -Tests products at specified stages in the production process and records test data, applying Quality Control procedures and accurately documenting the results of the inspections and testing

-Inspects quality of raw materials and purchased products upon receipt according to Quality Control procedures

-Examines raw material and tests samples to verify against specifications

-Conducts and documents investigations of product integrity and communicates reports in a timely manner

-Performs quality related inventory movements within ERP system in a timely manner

-Maintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner

-Monitors and verifies Production processes meet quality and food safety standards

-Maintains internal, regulatory and third party requirements

-Assists Quality Assurance Manager in maintenance and monitoring of HACCP program

-Monitors the compliance of all Good Manufacturing Practices for all employees

-Complies with and ensures compliance with SQF, FDA-FSMA QAI/NSF, GFCO, OSHA and LTF Safety regulations

-Follows through completely on Customer Inquiries through investigation, reporting and training

-Instructs production employees about standards of quality and food safety through ongoing training and working in conjunction with Production Managers, the Food Safety/Sanitation Manager and QA Manager

-Assists Quality Manager and Supervisor in establishing standards of quality

-Participates in the development and/or revision of inspection procedures, policies, forms and/ or programs

-Ensures plant cleanliness by communicating issues and auditing sanitation practices

-Supports R&D with special projects, as needed

-Assists Warehouse, Sanitation, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Production with maintaining LTF policies and procedures

-Assists with Traceability Exercises, Mock Recalls and Recalls, as required

-Maintains QC lab in clean and organized condition

-Assists QA Supervisor, QA Manager and Food Safety/Sanitation Manager as needed

-Maintains acute attention to detail and performs work accurately

-Thinks critically and suggests opportunities for improvement and solutions to issues to the QA Manager & QA Supervisor

-Other duties may be assignedWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

-One to two years related experience in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience

-Certificate from college or technical school. College coursework preferred

-Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills

-ERP knowledge highly desired

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedures and policies, write routine reports and correspondence

-Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and conduct training, as needed

-Comfortable working with a diverse group of people across multiple departments

-Ability to communicate verbally and in written form proficiently in English

-Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

-Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and analyze mathematical data

-Execute written or oral instructions and apply common sense and critical thinking to deviations in processes

-Address issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

-Ability to investigate issues and deduce root causes and outcomes

-Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

-Experience with laboratory environment, equipment and safety procedures

-Acute attention to detail

-Prioritize tasks while maintaining good time management

-Communicates effectively across multiple departments in multiple formats

-Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
