Always striving for best in class outcomes, the material cost reduction program continues to deliver more than $1 of earnings per share per year.OBJECTIVES:Lead VAVE/idea generation events and strategies to identify Material Cost Reduction and productivity opportunities while maintaining or improving product quality and vendor service levels. Work closely with key stakeholders in World Wide Supply Chain Organization and each of our business segments to create a multi-year pipeline of ideas that equates to 30% or more of year over year team targets. The position will report directly to the Vice President World Wide Supply Chain and will have no direct reports.QualificationsRESPONSIBILITIES:The Director, VAVE’s primary responsibility is to champion and secure ideas for material cost reductions across all components and commodities delivering demonstrated P&L impact. This leader must ensure a smooth hand over from idea generation and vetting to idea pursuit by Strategic Sourcing Managers. As a thought leader responsible for big idea generation, the VAVE Leader has the following specific responsibilities.

Define processes: Define and enforce consistent VAVE processes within WWSC, bringing best practices from other organizations and industries

Analyze data: Review sourcing data to find insights, eliminate waste, and identify productivity opportunities

Drive change: Drive change including people, process and technology to capture material cost reduction

Encourage collaboration: Promote open and constructive dialogue across Sourcing, Engineering, Product Management and Factories

Own events: Owns/develops VAVE annual event calendar by working with Engineering, Operations, Product Development, and commodity managers.

Mitigate risk: Ensures that the business is not sole sourced on any part. Works with the component managers to ensure that businesses have development partners and value suppliers. Provides annual update on progress for senior management review.

Gift ideas: Develops process and consistent template for the handover of all projects to Strategic Sourcing Managers working with local/regional business unit teams on a weekly basis to track idea vetting progress.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 15 years of professional experience

Successful, 5+ year track record in Fortune 1000 organizations - HVAC experience preferred

Lean and Six Sigma trained, with previous VAVE leadership role preferred

Solid analytical and process management skills

Strong negotiating skills

Ability to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans

World class project management skills

Outstanding cross-functional leadership skills; viewed as credible by business unit/functional leaders

Able to get buy-in and commitment from both internal and external stakeholders

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner

Willingness to travel (regionally/domestically) up to 50% to lead events in factories
