Primary Purpose:

Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and partners to help the donation process work smoothly. Responsible for establishing agreements with referral sources and continued improvement of cornea/eye donation outcomes in your assigned region. This role is responsible for managing and improving donation program outcomes in hospitals, medical examiner and coroner offices, as well as the resolution of logistic challenges as may arise with other community stakeholders such as funeral homes, Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) programs, partner donation agencies or other entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic hospital donation program improvement plans to meet established goals of region.

Cultivate and maintain effective donor program relationships with hospitals, coroners, medical examiners, funeral homes and other regional healthcare professionals to maximize donation program.

Provide and document presentations and educational experiences to varied adult-learning audiences in both professional and public settings.

Collaborate with identified facilities in development of policies and procedures related to eye donation and recovery.

Provide, document and personally meet to discuss cornea/eye donation program statistics with key facility contacts, preparing in advance with thoughtful data analysis leading to recommendations for program improvement.

Analyze and evaluate donor referral trends and developments and report these to colleagues within SightLife.

Problem solving before, during and after actual donor cases (involves 24/7 pager availability).

Collaborate with Medical Review Coordinators, Transplant Donor Coordinators, Partner Community Resources staff, and Eye Recovery Technicians to improve operational metrics with supporting initiatives from internal departments.

Collaborate with organ and tissue partners within the region to help meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Follows direction of Partner Community Resources leadership to ensure proper coordination of regional activities and provides routine updates concerning service area activities.

Maintains accurate and current donation partner and stakeholder profile information in database.

Assists in budget planning and the evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of regional operations.

Will require up to 60% statewide and regional travel.

Available to work variable shifts to accommodate stakeholder schedules including evening, night and early morning rounds, educations and commutes.

Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.

Four (4) years’ experience in healthcare, public relations, communications or marketing field is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Must be able to independently manage schedule and time as well as be self-motivated.

Must be able to work long hours, nights, and weekends when needed (involves 24/7 pager availability), and travel statewide and regionally up to 60%.

Qualified applicants must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and be eligible to meet our company driving standards and have reliable, dependable transportation.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of constituents including public speaking and facilitation skills.

Proficiency with Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, and database programs.

Salesforce or equivalent CRM, Adobe, and case management system familiarity is preferred.

Ability to manage projects, organize a variety of tasks, manage multiple and occasionally conflicting priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, communicate to coordinate complex schedules and accurately attend to details.

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Effective problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.

Experience at successfully and independently building and maintaining client-based relationships.

Demonstrate passion for the Mission and Values of SightLife, including personal support of organ and tissue donation.
