SAFETY DIRECTOR (CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS)

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the engineering, maintenance and industrial fields, is currently hiring for the following position in Corpus Christi, Texas:

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY DIRECTOR

Responsible for providing safety and risk technical expertise to The Mundy Companies personnel and our customers. Develops, establishes, and monitors The Mundy Companies’ Site Safety Program, which closely tracks safety, health, and environmental conditions at each site. Works with the project team managers to develop individual project safety plans, conduct safety orientations, and coordinate training seminars for all site personnel. Assists in the implementation of new and/or additional programs as outlined by corporate governance. Assists in following up with workplace injuries associated with the project.

This position will develop and support EHS training programs for all sites; provide technical and regulatory support for sites; lead cooperative efforts with operations team to ensure sites achieve all EHS metrics; liaise with customer representatives to ensure Mundy meets or exceeds all client EHS expectations; interact with operations leaders to ensure EHS and operations strategies are properly integrated and implemented. This position is also responsible for other duties as assigned.

A four year degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene is preferred. Seven or more years of related EHS experience in construction maintenance industry or chemical manufacturing is required. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills; advanced computer skills, primarily with MS Office software; knowledge of environmental, health, safety, industrial hygiene regulations, industry practices, extensive risk management; and, experience with Regulatory inspections.

The Environmental, Health and Safety Director may be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments in order to make them safe; occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and electrical equipment; possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles; possible exposure to chemicals and elevated work areas. This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very loud. Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
