The NOV Aftermarket Group is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Casper, Wyoming. The main responsibilities of this role include:

Field Service Technician will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service for product maintenance and repair in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner
  • Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products

  • Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system

  • Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments

  • Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner

  • Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies

Facility Specific Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment such as: Analog and digital PLC based systems
  • Proprietary integrated control systems (Cyberbase, Amphion)

  • Variable Frequency Drives

  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems

  • Electrical Systems (including various types of AC/DC motors)

  • Mechanical Systems (including fittings, gearboxes and bearings)

  • Provide training to other NOV personnel on aforementioned systems and equipment as needed.

  • Provide accurate and timely report(s) to appropriate personnel regarding work progress and output.

  • Collaborate frequently with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience working on mechanical, electrical, electronic systems is an asset

  • Knowledge of oil and gas field components, including software and hardware is an asset

  • Electrical/electronic/mechanical aptitude is an asset

  • Ability to utilize various pieces of test equipment properly, including, multimeters, meggers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, calipers, basic hand tools, etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits is an asset

  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat and heights.

Travel Requirements:

  • Position requires travel over 75% of the time and 24/7 on call.
  • Ability to travel on short notice domestic.

  • Retain or can obtain, a valid Transportation Worker Identification Card issued by the Department of Homeland Security.

  • Own a valid driver license and good driving record.
