2019-2020 Wyoming National Core Indicators Project

Field Interviewers

Vital Research is seeking Field Interviewers throughout the state of Wyoming who can serve as exceptional additions to our team. Field Interviewers complete face-to-face interviews with individuals who have a developmental disability. This is a 3-month project beginning February to May 2020 (or until 400 interviews have been completed across the state). Once Field Interviewers successfully complete training, they become part of a team of 8 individuals responsible for interviewing throughout Wyoming.

Wyoming is participating in the National Core Indicators-Developmental Disabilities (NCI-DD) survey, which is a voluntary effort to assess and monitor quality of life and outcomes for individuals receiving services and support from state-funded programs. Becoming a Field Interviewer for the 2019-20 NCI Project is a way to give individuals a voice in the future of disability services in Wyoming.

Responsibilities

Trained Field Interviewers schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with persons with disabilities in their home. Field Interviewers:

  • Call potential participants/guardians to schedule interviews
  • Organize and manage own interview schedule
  • Conduct on average 10 face-to-face interviews per week, each lasting 30-45 minutes
  • Download and print one-page assignment sheets for up to 200 participants from a secure file-sharing website using a personal printer (publicly accessed printers are not allowed)
  • Administer and record interview responses accurately using a provided tablet computer
  • Upload completed interviews and other updates daily using a secure WiFi connection
  • Comply with confidentiality, federal HIPAA regulations
  • Adhere to data security requirements, including current anti-virus and malware protection software, and performance of data security checks
  • Participate in weekly or bi-weekly conference calls
  • Track and submit accurate time sheets

Requirements

Field Interviewers should be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and display a willingness to learn. In addition to attending and passing a mandatory 1-day, paid webinar training anticipated in mid-end of March 2020, the following requirements must be met:

  • Experience interacting with persons who have a disability in a work, volunteer, or personal environment
  • Awareness and sensitivity to issues of illness, disability, and communication challenges
  • Comfort making “cold calls” to schedule interviews with individuals who may not expect a phone call
  • Communicate skillfully and in a timely manner via email, phone, and face-to-face
  • Proficient with email, uploading/downloading files, Internet use, and troubleshooting possible technical glitches
  • Read, type, and record responses accurately on a handheld tablet computer
  • Flexibility to work independently and schedule interviews within a set timeline
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license/automobile insurance
  • Business casual dress (no denim, shorts, t-shirts, or open-toed shoes)

Compensation

This is a part-time, temporary position. Actual hours worked will vary.

  • $18/hour for work time (includes: conducting interviews, making phone calls, scheduling, etc.)
  • Mileage, drive time, and other reimbursements also included.

For consideration, please submit BOTH a cover letter and resume.
