Accounting Analyst

ROLE:

The Accounting Analyst will be primarily required to provide support to the Financial Manager to perform responsibilities for that area. He/She will provide general ledger support and analysis, budgeting and forecasting support, as well as evaluation of varying performance strategies.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for general ledger support. They will provide financial analysis and report information required for business decisions. This may include forecasting future revenues and expenditures, identifying variances and trends, as well as modeling capital structure and budgeting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial reporting.

2. Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.

3. Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.

4. Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.

5. Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.

6. Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

7. Analyze trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.

8. Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.

9. Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.

10. Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation.

11. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data query/data management tools.

12. Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.

13. Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.

14. Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently.

15. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.

Experience:

• Three (3) years of business finance or other relevant experience

• High proficiency in financial modeling techniques.

• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.

• Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
