As part of the treasury operations team, this position is responsible for the determination of cash funding requirements, cash concentration, short term cash investments, and working capital maintenance for a group of commonly owned companies. Responsibilities include directing, managing, supervising, planning, and coordinating the activities and operations of the Treasury Department and its staff, as well as preparing and analyzing cash position reports, retirement accounting records, cash flow analysis, cash forecasts, bank reconciliations, and debt management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the SVP of Treasury with cash management, short term investments, bank relations, and other treasury related functions.
  • Review daily cash transactions and bank reports. Administer cash flow planning & funding and review/approve cash transfers.
  • Conduct cash flow analysis and projections. Review revenue and expense trends. Develop assumptions.
  • Maintain banking/financial institution relations.
  • Responsible for short term cash investments, confirming yields, and monitoring risk.
  • Open, close, and manage bank and investment accounts.
  • Develop, apply, and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare cash flow analysis and projections.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete financial, banking, and transactional records.
  • Prepare clear and concise financial and cash reports.
  • Serve as backup to the Treasury Department staff for daily operations and transfer of funds.
  • Oversee recordkeeping of cash transactions to ensure proper books and records are maintained.
  • Improve focus on Cash Management as a financial tool.
  • Work with accounting, credit, tax, IT, and legal departments on treasury related items.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and explore investment opportunities using company investment guidelines.
  • Assess investment risks and returns and the related tax implications, as well as monitor investments and make recommended changes.
  • Supervise the Treasury department staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CTP a plus.
  • Leadership experience in treasury, cash management, or banking experience in a multi-company environment.
  • Oil and gas treasury experience a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of money market instruments.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures manuals.
  • Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers and customers.
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing conclusions.
  • Proficiency using a variety of accounting and treasury software. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Well-developed communication and analytical skills.
