THE CENTECH GROUP is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator for the high-performance computing (HPC) capability that supports multiple mission requirements for the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC)/Mission Support task at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.
The person in this position will work as part of a team that runs AFTAC modeling and simulations with the methods and processes developed by the Phoenix program, which uses former and current operational HPC clusters to enhance the operational effectiveness of current operational systems.
This effort shall enhance AFTAC's ability to continuously achieve High Performance Computing so that AFTAC's mission critical and complex meteorological modeling and simulations are maximized.
Responsibilities
Provide Linux high-performance computing administration
Document all complex procedures and installations of new Windows and Linux based products
Function as subject matter expert (SME) and trainer to help desk and desktop support technicians for troubleshooting and restoral activities
Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication
Manipulate and edit files, directories, and links from both command line and graphical interface
Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, and access control lists to include network file systems
Provides RedHat 6.x/7.x System administration and performance tuning/monitoring
Maintain fault tolerance
Provide account management for internal and lab environments
Perform complex user account migrations of Network Information Service (NIS) to Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) on RedHat 6.x/7.x
Build RedHat KickStart configurations and perform server installations with KickStart
Manage complex RedHat SELinux configurations and perform troubleshooting
Build, install and manage complex RedHat Satellite servers managing 100s of clients
Interface with cross-functional teams and developers to support and resolve technical problems
Perform scripting with expertise in Shell, Korn and bash
Install, configure, and manage cluster software such as the Adaptive Computing MOAB scheduler and Torque resource managers
Assist users in compiling scientific modeling software and in resolving job scheduling conflicts or failures
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as Linux Server administrator. Linux+ certification.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing Linux clusters
Ability to analyze information or reports for compliance with policies/guidance
Must have a minimum of Top Secret (TS) Clearance with valid Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access
Must possess both security (e.g. Security+ CE) and computer environment certifications before performing any work.
