We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.Job DescriptionThe BI Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for keeping Legacy’s data warehouse and related data infrastructure operational and performing optimally. This includes database design, user access, capacity planning, performance tuning, ETL optimization and management, and data backup/recovery.Essential Functions

Configures, maintains and optimizes Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse environment.

Manages and optimizes system resources and configurations including storage, memory processor and bandwidth. This includes on premise, off premise and cloud environments.

Manages user access and security.

Monitors and manages software license compliance.

Optimizes monitors and manages data warehouse backup and recovery system and processes.

Designs and implements monitoring procedures to maximize availability and optimize performance of the database.

Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves database and ETL issues providing on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Develops ETL and data warehousing solutions with the Microsoft Azure and SQL Server products and platforms.

Develops data integration and transformation solutions using integration engines such as Corepoint and Qvera.

Evaluates and implements performance tuning of the data warehouse, ETLs and various data sources

Develops SQL queries and SSRS reports in conjunction with development team.

Creates database structures, assuring architecture, attributes and configuration optimizes performance while aligning with enterprise standards and processes.

Recommends and implements database structure modifications including views to optimize scalability, performance, security and ease of data retrieval.

Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills such as active listening, empathy, flexibility and accountability.

Follows Legacy’s exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job–related hazards.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all employees to insure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Training & Work Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics or similar degree; or, equivalent combination of education or experience, Required.

Master’s Degree (MA) preferred.

DBA certification such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA).

Minimum 2+ years DBA and SQL Developer experience.

Minimum 2+ years Healthcare experience.

Extensive knowledge of database administration, hard/software, programming, systems analysis and related systems.

Expert experience in assisting/developing ETL and data warehousing solutions with the Microsoft Azure and SQL Server products and service

Advanced SQL development with strong T-SQL background for development of views, stored procedures

Advanced knowledge and experience using analytical tools SAS and SQL Server Reporting Services.

Ability to interpret business requirements to formulate technical solutions and to decide among competing technical solutions

Ability to understand principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
