Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, provides a wide variety of legal clerical work in support of group of legal assistants/attorneys to include preparing, checking and processing legal forms, documents, and related material, locating and abstracting information form legal files and records, and gathering and organizing relevant material for use in legal proceedings; and performs related duties.

Position Responsibilities:

· Prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and any other necessary legal documentation for the attorneys

· Performs routine clerical duties, such as maintaining letters, memoranda, invoices, and billing, and other indexed records arranged in a file according to an established system

· Assist in processing excessive workflow and perform any other duties as assigned, faxing, copying, and other administration duties

· Provide courteous communication, customer service, and timely assistance and response with borrowers, vendors, attorneys, court systems, branches and other departments

Essential Skills and Experience:

· Knowledge of legal terminology, legal processes, and procedures desired

· Proficient in MSWord, Excel and Outlook

· Ability to maintain confidential legal files and documents and maintain data bases

· Ability to pay attention to detail, follow procedures and work effectively with others

· Must be able to work well under pressure, and possess strong oral and written communication skills

· Ability to proofread documents, scan, and prepare correspondence as required

· Must be able to handle multiple assignments and work independently

The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.
