Our clients range from large international manufacturers to small boutique operations. We are a young company enjoying exciting growth seeking a detail-oriented, experienced craftsperson to lead our Woodworking Department.
Job Summary:
The Woodwork Fabrication Manager is responsible for leading a team of craftspersons to successfully produce and install high quality, custom casework, architectural millwork, furniture and displays.
Responsibilities:
Lead the execution and installation of all woodwork fabrications.
Coordinate projects incorporating both wood and metalwork with the Metals Fabrication Manager
Ensure quality workmanship consistent with best practices and quality requirements
Communicate and update project details to team members as necessary
Coordinate with clients and construction supervisors to ensure the satisfactory realization of projects
Facilitate training and professional development for the members of your team
Facilitate the accurate and timely development of shop drawings with the Design Department
Coordinate the purchasing of project materials and hardware
Maintain woodworking and finishing tools
Develop experience programming and running a CNC router
Maintain the Woodworking Department consumables inventory
Maintain a high standard of excellence and professionalism
Collaborate with other members of the management team to improve processes and efficiencies
Requirements:
Capable of managing a team of craftspersons to meet deadlines and ensure quality
Demonstrated professional woodworking experience
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
High proficiency in cabinetmaking including Euro-style and face-frame construction
High proficiency in solid wood and veneered furniture construction
Experience with spray finishing
Knowledge of woodworking tool operation and maintenance including edgebander, wide belt sander, saws, routers, shapers and veneer press
Ability to read blueprints / shop drawings
CAD and / or SketchUp experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and email
A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
A team player with leadership skills
