Field Service Tech #1

Experience: (Minimum 5 years in all of the following)

5 years previous experience in heavy equipment specifically in crusher, screener, stacker, whole tree chipper and horizontal grinder diagnostic, maintenance and repair.

Experience in providing and promoting a safe work environment.

Experience in all aspects of hydraulic testing, maintenance and repair.

Experience in all aspects of diesel engine diagnostics, maintenance and repair.

Experience in all aspects of electrical diagnostics, testing and repair.

Experience in cutting, welding and fabricating as needed.

Experience in operating support equipment such as bobcats, loaders, forklifts, boom trucks, cranes, excavators etc.

Experience handling multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines; highly organized with attention to detail.

Experience in working in a quarry, outdoor, forest and garage setting.

Experience in using computers to diagnose, maintain and repair crushers, screeners, stackers whole tree chippers and horizontal grinders, diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic issues.

Essential Job Duties:

Promote a safe work environment for yourself, other employees and contractor.

Perform all aspects of crusher, screener, stacker, whole tree chipper and horizontal grinder diagnostics, maintenance and repair.

Perform all aspects of diesel engine diagnostics, maintenance and repair.

Perform all aspects of hydraulic testing, maintenance and repair.

Perform all aspects of electrical diagnostics, testing and repair.

Perform all aspects of cutting, welding and fabricating as needed.

Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.

Safely and properly perform maintenance on crushers, screeners, stackers, whole tree chippers and horizontal grinders – including screen changes, jaw flips/replacements, cone liner changes, blow bar changes and knife/striker changes and any other routine maintenance.

Safely and properly operate whole tree chippers, horizontal grinders, crushers, screeners, and stackers.

Shovel excess material away from crusher, screener or stackers whole tree chippers and horizontal grinders as needed.

Will conduct quality control sample testing.

Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.

Always be a self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.

Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems with regards to heavy equipment repair, etc.

Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.

Accurately complete inbound, pdi, service work orders and other documentation as needed.

Candidates must agree to adhere to all of Rock and Recycling Equipment LLC, OSHA and MSHA regulations, policies and procedures

Needs to be a team player, work well with others and follow directions.

Provide all tools to preform essential job duties

Performs other duties as assigned.

Criteria/Conditions:

While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stair and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.

May be required to lift heavy objects (up to seventy-five (75) pounds) during the course of the workday.

Personal protective equipment is required when performing this work. The work is in an outdoor, quarry, forest and garage setting which requires hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required by law.

This position will require OSHA and MSHA training.

This company is a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per all applicable laws.

This work is in a quarry, garage, outdoor and forest setting which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.

Ability to speak, comprehend, read and write English.

Employee may travel up to 100% of the time.

Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.

May be subject to other conditions and criteria.
