Founded by E&P experts who have previously invested $600M into Wyoming-based oil and gas assets, “RWW” is a new strategic mineral and royalty acquisition company seeking an experienced oil and gas attorney for an in-house position. RWW is looking for a motivated and driven attorney with an efficient attention to detail and fundamental understanding of Wyoming title issues. Ideal candidates possess previous experience in the upstream oil and gas sector, specifically as it relates to the preparation of title opinions or land title work. Job Duties:

  • Review runsheets and ownership reports generated by company title teams;
  • Provide leadership in the management, training, and aiding of company title teams;
  • Identify title defects and draft necessary curative;
  • Provide legal counsel to manage legal and financial risk related to asset acquisitions;
  • Negotiate and draft full range of E&P and A&D contracts, including oil and gas leases, surface use and right of way agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and various other agreements;
  • Maintain digital databases of pertinent information across various software platforms;
  • Work with management, buyers, and title team to design and improve upon acquisition strategies, in-house efficiencies, and org structure as the company grows;
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Wyoming’s evolving title statues and provisions, ongoing litigation and case law, and relevant WOGCC hearings

Compensation: Competitive annual salary with full benefits and performance incentives.

Location: Position will be based out of Company’s new headquarters in Sheridan, WY.

Required Competencies:

  • Juris Doctor (WY license required, additional licenses in ND, UT, CO preferred) and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in oil and gas title work/upstream oil and gas sector;
  • Strong knowledge of US oil and gas law, mineral and real property law, and mineral title;
  • Excellent writing and legal drafting capabilities;
  • Strong familiarity with Wyoming’s existing oil and gas environment and activity;
  • Extensive experience in running title from patent to present and identifying title defects;
  • Detail oriented and process driven; adept at the learning and application of new software technologies;
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills and experience working with a broad range of people;
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, accountability and independent judgment;
  • Ability to handle substantial work volume in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review, evaluate and counsel management on complex legal matters;
