The Senior Engineer is responsible for providing high-level technical assistance, leadership and ensuring service and support is provided to clients providing an excellent customer experience with Green House Data. This Senior Engineer is responsible for but not limited to; architecture design and recommendation, implementation, troubleshooting, analyzing and maintain the IT Infrastructure and managed services of internal and external customer environments.

We are seeking a strong Engineer candidate who can help evolve our managed services portfolio and deliver excellence to our clients. This is a unique role the involves both managed services and delivery engineer roles. Your ability to move across multiple disciplines while providing technical leadership to our team(s) key to the success of this position.

This position must be located in Cheyenne or the Northern Colorado area. Relocation may be considered for the right candidate to Cheyenne, WY.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Must exhibit Excellent customer facing communication and passion for customer success
  • Ability to help build next generation operational process to support managed service offering
  • Deploy manage, test, upgrade and integrate Windows components and services, such as AD, DNS, SQL etc.
  • Experience with VDI, including design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • VMware management, troubleshooting, experience with vCloud, vCenter, vMotion and Storage vMotion is a plus.
  • Linux administration to include deploy, manage, upgrade and troubleshoot.
  • Consult with clients on problem areas, be that configuration, performance, security, etc.
  • Ensure customer uptime by managing backup, recovery solutions, especially Avamar and VeeamHandle escalations from the service delivery team for a variety of client issues.
  • Continuously training and educate engineering staff to improve our ability to rapidly respond to client needs
  • Consult internal teams on evolving client requirements based on changes in the telemetry of their environment
  • Consult with the product team on enhancements to products and services based on intimate familiarity with client environments.
  • Communicates effectively with internal teams with regards to events and changes transpiring at client sites.
  • Participate in rotating "on-call" schedule with other members of the team.

Delivery Engineer Role:

  • Direct responsibility for the success of implementation delivery, in partnership with the delivery manager – Green House Data products and services
  • The role of delivery engineer is a senior advisory role and you will be responsible for directing other GSC and/or infrastructure team members on SME tasks assigned to team members
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers on technical subjects; demos, end-user and administrative training – onboarding customer to our support and/or managed services
  • Develop planning of project, design and implementation documentation for assigned projects; including, but limited to word documentation, templates, spreadsheets and diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and follow through

  • Assist in the development of standard planning documentation and templates
  • Responsible for successful customer and internal on-boarding of new customer, services and/or products to our support and managed service team managers
  • Responsibility for communication and updates to delivery manager and/or customer
  • Ability to facilitate feedback to managers and product owners
  • Ability to innovate
  • Participate in SOW and Peer Reviews pre-sales – “Do we have what is needed for success”

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-7+ years of proven experience supporting delivering IT services
  • Experience with DRaaS technologies using Zerto a plus
  • Comfortable being part of a high-performance team and working hard to overcome big challenges on tight timelines while maintaining a work-life balance.
  • Enjoys a transparent, high-communication environment.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (VMware and Azure in particular)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture
  • Microsoft Managed Azure Experience highly desired
  • Have Microsoft MCSA or MCSE certification or be able to achieve 6-months after hire.
  • Key understanding of monitoring and patching system
  • Scripting abilities and techniques examples including but not limited to batch, PowerShell and Python.
  • Excellent Customer Facing Communication

  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer business challenges that lead to understanding the customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, produce templates, put together repeatable and scalable process, train and mentor other team members.
