Description: Procurement engineers serve as a technical support to the PAC-3 Global Supply Chain team chartered with reducing risk in the supply base. The selected candidate will be a liaison to our thermal battery suppliers and their respective teams to resolve complex technical issues. The Procurement Engineer will partner with multiple disciplines, including engineering, production operations and quality, with focus on process controls, failure investigations and requirements related to thermal batteries. The Procurement Engineer will serve as risk and opportunity manager, will manage the Statement of Requirements (SOR), participate in change management, identify affordability opportunities, and will be responsible for capacity and capability analysis at a minimum. Additional tasks include participating in or facilitating process improvement or corrective action activities such as controlled builds, product line validation, PFMEA, PO Kickoff, failure investigations/RCCA, etc. This position includes the opportunity to travel to key supplier sites.Basic Qualifications:Background/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar field, or significant technical experienceExcellent communication skillsAbility to work proactively /self motivatedExcellent teamwork and team leadership skillsAbility to obtain a secret clearanceDesired Skills:Green Belt or Black Belt certifiedExperience with PAC-3 programWorking knowledge of DOORS and/or willingness to learnExperience with Process Simulator or other capacity analysis toolsRisk Management ExperienceThermal Battery knowledge and experienceBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
