Department Description

The Intensive Care Unit is a 16-bed unit. This team-oriented, collegial unit enjoys meeting the needs of complex, critically ill patients. The technology is state of the art and includes CVVH, IABP and hypothermic protocol. Patients in this unit have a variety of cardiovascular, neurological, medical and surgical diagnoses like post open heart surgery, respiratory failure, renal disease, carotid stents, craniotomies, endovascular coiling, sepsis, and other multisystem problems. Caring for the whole family is important to this unit.Position Description

The position is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Supervisor of the Unit. Required:Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing. At least 2 years recent experience as an RN in an ICU setting.

Preferred: Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree.

Licenses/Certifications

Required:Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Current certification from the American Heart Association as a BLS provider.
