Description: The Airframe Structural Analysis Group is responsible for insuring the structural integrity of the airframe fuselage, landing gear and propulsion installations and all other attachments to airframe fuselage, including electrical, controls and dynamic systems attachments.Structural integrity responsibilities cover composite and conventional structures and extend from conceptualization on through development, manufacturing and field service support. In fulfilling its function, adherence to the appropriate design criteria and other directives mandated by the customer and or regulatory agencies is strictly maintained. Specific functions include: Static structural analysis and Margin of Safety determination, fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis of critical interfaces, determination of airframe component replacement and / or retirement times, specification and design of airframe related static and fatigue tests, field support and formal engineering documentation. Analytical processes include classical closed form solutions as well as finite element analysis.Basic Qualifications:B.S. in Mechanical Eng or Aerospace Eng. from an accredited university.3.0 GPA requirementUS Citizenship RequiredNo Dual CitizenshipAbility to obtain Security clearanceDesired Skills:A course of study with emphasis on the principles of statics, kinematics, inertial loading, strength of materials, aerospace structural analysis, Finite Element analysis and numerical analysis methods.The candidate should have effective oral and written communications skills.Co-op or Intern experience in related technical fields is a benefit and will be given special consideration.Demonstrated leadership in academics, employment or extracurricular activities highly desirable.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
