Electrical Engineering Intern (Power Generation)Location:BoiseState/Territory:IdahoDepartment:Generation Electrical GroupDescriptionElectrical Engineering Intern (Power Generation)Job Summary of Roles and ResponsibilitiesPOWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented electrical engineering student for a summer internship experience. Under the guidance of multiple experienced engineers, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the electrical design of generating facilities. Responsibilities will include:
Performing assignments designed to develop professional engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
Designing systems based on rough sketches and guidance from others
Back checking drafting work and seeking guidance where needed
Learning IEEE design standards and NFPA design codes
Attending site visits with more experienced engineers
Required Education/Experience
Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from a U.S. Accredited Institution
Successful completion of sophomore level courses
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education/Experience
Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the power generation industry
Self-motivated, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for successful completion of tasks
Prior internship and/or related engineering or construction experience is a plus
Familiarity with design and drafting software such as AUTOCAD, as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial
