Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems. Incumbent is experienced and has full knowledge of the job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under general supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities.Essential Functions:Incumbents are responsible for applicable activities, responsibilities, knowledge, skills and activities covered in the previous Technician description, plus the following:

Assist senior technicians production, testing and installation of X-ray Generators, Digital Imaging and Pulse Power equipment. This includes both hardware and software aspects of x-ray generation and imaging systems.

Performs moderately complex technical functions related to the support of engineering activities such as fabrication, set up, operation, maintenance, modification, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of systems, experiments, prototypes or equipment.

Performs functional testing, debugging and repairs of electromechanical products.

Conducts engineering/development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect and present data or assist in general research work.

Troubleshoots, diagnoses and corrects malfunctions using standard corrective measures.

Assists in resolving quality and reliability problems.

Operates and calibrates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

Assists in development of instruments.

Provides design details and recommends modifications to engineering designs.

Monitors records for accuracy and maintains various inventories.

Recognizes, follows and enforces safety practices. Qualifications:

Skills: Apply basic electronic/mechanical theory.

Read blueprints, drawings or schematics.

Use basic hand tools, test equipment and assembly techniques.

Practical application of arithmetic including arithmetic functions with fractions and converting linear units of measure.

Use MS Office products.

Good written and verbal communications skills.

May require the use of machine shop tools and techniques.

Ability to follow directions based on general engineering instructions, diagrams, sketches and verbal direction.

Lay-out and assemble a control console panel or chassis under general direction and with a sketch.

Experience in Job Family: 1 Year

Education: Associates degree. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.

Physical Abilities: Use of arms, hands, and fingers to operate tools and computer. Focus on items less than 20 inches away, see in three dimensions, and distinguish all colors.
