If you want to work among the very best talent in the industry, working on the most innovative products in the world, Samsung is the place to be.Position Summary:This role will report to the Head of Product Management to drive product innovation and go-to-market strategy for a portfolio of products in the US market, managing both Flagship Smartphones (Galaxy S, Galaxy Note) & Value Tier Smartphones (A Series). The individual will support the US based SEA product planning team, the carrier & retail account teams, and the Headquarters based product planning organization. A successful individual will strive to become the expert in the market, our products, our competitors, our consumer, and our customers (carriers & retailers). He / She functions as overall market expert of Samsung and competitor portfolios and will assist in developing product launch strategy – value proposition, sales points, product positioning and product marketingRole and Responsibilities

Manage team of Flagship Smartphone (Galaxy S, Galaxy Note) & Value Tier Smartphone (A Series) Product Leads

Define product positioning and value proposition for the US Market – based on deep understanding of US market trends, competitor products and strategies, consumer pain points and insights, and other market research

Develop cohesive product strategy across product brands & price tiers to maximize Samsung market share

Drive go-to-market strategy to make the products successful - high volume and value share. Go-to-market strategy may include strategies on pricing, channel, product and business models

Successfully bring new innovative product categories to market (eg, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, etc) with unique go-to-market strategies

Work with HQ product planning to refine, recommend and finalize portfolio and roadmap strategy for future products (12-24 months in the future)

Work with marketing teams to design consumer research to better understand consumer needs and get a pulse of the market

Work with Content & Services team to drive key value proposition of devices from a software and content perspective of the products and grow ecosystem for the portfolio

Analyze and track market performance of current Samsung portfolio to understand gaps and opportunities

Identify and track performance of high volume models on monthly basis; offer suggestions for improvement

Work with sales teams to understand customer strategies, new technology and service rollouts and provide a tactical and strategic level product / roadmap recommendation

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business, Technology or related field required.

Advanced Degree preferred

15 Plus years of experience in Product Management, preferably in the mobile or telecom industry

Prior strategic role coupled with a strong focus on execution of strategic ideas.

Strong written and verbal presentation skills are a must, as the role involves both internal and external presentations.

Leadership skills & people management experience is required.

Previous experience in consumer want and need identification, growth and product innovation, data and pricing analysis, technology trend analysis, consumer insights and consumer preference analysis, tradeoff and cost optimization analysis highly sought after.

Role will require direct communication with customers as well as Samsung executive leadership interface. Hence ability to influence strategic decisions and product decisions is very important.

Demonstrated ability to formulate and defend opinions regarding market and competitor impact on current and future product roadmap.

Demonstrated flexibility to adhere to needs of diverse audiences.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to facilitate meetings and develop relationships with internal departments.

Highly motivated, work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames.

Necessary Skills & Attributes:

Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company.

Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.

Review detailed product development, marketing documents and media materials as needed.

Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels.

Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.

The ability to develop tasks and work assignments, based on sometime vaguely defined objectives.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

Work is generally performed in an office environment.

Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.

The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time under 25 pounds.

Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and business management stress.

Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with PCs, printers, and office work areas.

Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.

Under very little direct supervision with a high level of responsibility to apply general policies and guidelines where decisions are seldom monitored and consequences of decisions adversely affect operating results and management decisions. Complete access to confidential company data where disclosure may jeopardize the company’s competitive position.
