are seeking a Principal Network Architect to join American Tower’s Network

Engineering team. The Network

Engineering team is responsible for all design, maintenance, and monitoring of

all active network connectivity and performance. Day to day you will test and

access equipment, protocols and methodologies and introduce new solutions for commercialization .

represent American Tower at industry associations and communities that are

Architect end-to-end Packet Corenetworks, leveraging existing and emerging wireless technology standards andprotocols.

Design, lead, and influence LTEinfrastructure, protocols, and shared spectrum technologies to help achievesuccess in an evolving wireless ecosystem.

Collaborate with the Software andArchitecture teams to design core network elements in a lab environment,including support of field trials and early commercial deployments.

Participate in network planning andarchitecture design as well as implementation/configuration and supportactivities.

Lead cross-functional efforts todefine 4G and 5G technology prototypes and proof of concept projects.

Participate in evaluations of CoreNetwork (MME, SGW, PGW, ePDG) and Common Core elements (DRA/HSS/PCRF).

Develop system-level testingstrategies against the Common Core elements.

Participate in, design, and developanalytics and key performance indicators for the core network and subscribermanagement systems to ensure the systems can be adequately monitored forthreshold and predictive analytics.

Work closely with the ProductManagement team to gather and utilize product requirements needed to architectthe network.

Work closely with OEM partners toalign their product roadmaps with internal requirements.

What You Need to Succeed

Master’sdegree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.

Aminimum of 10 year’s wireless IT/telecommunications experience, at least 5 withLTE networks, protocol stacks, radio topologies, and architecture required.

Experiencewith the various NFV/SDN technology standards required.

Experiencedeveloping system requirements, interpreting network specifications, andcreating and implementing test plans and reports required.

Knowledgeand experience with TCP/IP networking (basic routing, analyzing networkcaptures, etc .) required.

SIP,SDP, RTP, HTTPS, GTP, TCP IP, TLS, and DIAMETER experience required.

Workingknowledge of 3GPP LTE 4G standards and Packet Data Core Network Architecturesrequired.

Experiencedat detailed debugging of call flows and LTE network operations and protocolsrequired.

Approximately 20% travel may be required in support ofthe position’s responsibilities.

Strongwritten and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideasand suggestions clearly and effectively.

Abilityto work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectivelyand professionally achieve results.

Strongorganizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreedupon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in afast-paced environment .
