Responsibilities:

Research tax compliance questions and resolve issues as requested.

Gather, analyze, and prepare data for income and indirect tax returns and special tax projects.

Interface with personnel from business units to ensure timely delivery of information and to validate and develop accurate reports.

Participate in the overall income state tax audits. Analyze audit reports and find errors in detail calculations provided by external auditors.

Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual sales & use tax returns from various corporate divisions within the Company. Prepare and file bi-annual Abandoned and Unclaimed Property tax returns for various legal entities within the Company.

Complete monthly general ledger tax account/accrual reconciliations for accounting team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Tax/Accounting or equivalent job-related experienceis required; CPA is preferred

1-2 years of experience in tax/accounting

Analytical and Research Skills.

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy, and procedure development techniques.

Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state tax codes.

Obtaining and analyzing data for indirect tax return and tax provision preparationEssential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesPreparation & Reporting Management

Research tax compliance questions and resolve issues as requested.

Gather, analyze, and prepare data for income tax returns and special tax projects such as in house tax returns.

Interface with personnel from business units to ensure timely delivery of information and to validate and develop accurate reports.

Prepare various tax analysis schedules using intermediate Excel functions.

Analyze data collected to determine appropriate city apportionment percentages to prepare accurate tax reporting and determine appropriate tax filing requirements based on findings.

Prepare and review city, franchise income tax returns based on data gathered for all territories where Nexus exists.

Prepare a portion of the Company’s income tax provision, and assist in the overall process.

Manage the computation and processing the Tax Department’s tax schedules, payments, and records for all territories where Nexus exists.

Resolve minor tax issues and make recommendations to resolve complex tax issues while weighing risks.

State Tax Notices & Audits

Participate in the overall income state tax audits.

Analyze audit reports and find errors in detail calculations provided by external auditors.

Prepare responses to various income state tax agencies.

Prepare monthly tax audit status report with latest findings and present to Tax Controller during monthly meetings.

Processes & Procedures

Initiate ideas, recommend, and propose implementation plans to streamline tax processes and procedures

Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual sales & use tax returns from various corporate divisions within the Company

Monitor sales and use tax rate changes and communicate monthly updates to business units

Prepare and file bi-annual Abandoned and Unclaimed Property tax returns for various legal entities within the Company

Complete monthly general ledger tax account/accrual reconciliations for Accounting team.

2-4 years of experience in tax/accounting
