Based in Minneapolis, Area Environments is a creative studio that creates large-scale digitally printed wallcoverings from artists’ artwork. This is a great position for someone who might have experience in the printing industry, interior design, art, or graphic design. This is an entry level position.
Area Environments is located a block off the light rail line green line on University Avenue- Prospect Park,
and we sit right next to the U of M transit-way, conveniently right by Surly Brewing!
As the Print Technician, you’ll:
Work under the Print Manager who will have daily tasks ready for you, but mostly you’ll be
working on those tasks independently.
Read and interpret job tickets and work order instructions. Be effective in managing personal time
and productivity.
Responsible for conducting quality checks and ensuring that all outgoing orders of Area products
are of exceptional quality.
Set up, load stock, and operate digital printers for print jobs, monitor job progress as needed.
Communicate any issues to Print Manager in a timely manner.
Monitor supply levels of media and ink. Report low levels to as needed to ensure appropriate
stock levels are maintained.
Does this sound like you
You’re interested in discovering more about the world of large scale digital printing, interior
design, showrooms, designers.
You’ve got some muscles, and can lift somewhat heavy things like small boxes and rolls of
paper (can be up to 65lbs.)
You’re comfortable working independently and following directions but are flexible and willing to
help out the team when we need you!
You don’t get too flustered if plans change and you need to shift gears throughout the day as
tasks are reprioritized.
You are dependable and we can rely on you to show up and get your assigned tasks done. You’re a part of the team!
You’re not offended by the occasional swear word (or two).
