The Social Content Creator will be responsible for defining the look and feel of the brand across all social media channels. With a general passion for social spaces this role will have a proven track record of delivering results on social campaigns, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize, plus a passion for testing, learning and making brand and data-driven decisions. This role requires someone who is actively aware of what’s trending online and across social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube) with a specific focus on Instagram

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Alongside the Art Director and Social Media team, define the day-to-day look and feel and storytelling of Vera Bradley’s social platforms. Create content that is on trend, relevant, engaging, modern, unique, authentic and personal.

  • Ensure social content drives social buzz: sentiment, engagement, mentions, and impressions, with a key focus on driving new followers.

  • Ideate/create editorial content (imagery, animations, video, stories, etc.) under tight deadlines; proactively develop concepts and compelling treatments.

  • Serve as liaison between Social Media team and Creative team to ensure brand consistency, efficiencies in sharing content and aligning with brand marketing campaigns.

  • Art direct photo shoots related to social including concepting, preparation, execution, editing, and retouching.

  • Review and gain approval for all assets to include UGC and incoming influencer content.

  • Oversee best practices for photo tagging and crediting.

  • Collaborate with Social Media team to curate content, build shot list, manage feeds and oversee the upload of images as required.

  • Partner with copywriter to ensure the copy/caption direction and visual presentation work together harmoniously.

  • Oversee influencer program to ensure all branding, activities, content creation and influencer relationships align with overall brand goals.

  • Collaborate with partners on story-telling for the blog that can translate into engaging social media content.

  • Assists in ideating content trips to include brand sponsors, influencer selection, providing direction to create ad & behind the scenes imagery and video content.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing or fine arts, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of creative marketing experience working as an art director or graphic designer with focus on creating social assets.

  • Experience using data and analytics to influence content creation strategy.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating breadth of design and photo art direction expertise.

  • Experience in the digital publishing industry, media/social agency, celebrities and/or with other entertainment or lifestyle brands that have strong social followings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Understands best practices and up-to-date design needs/restrictions across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube.

  • In-depth knowledge of appropriate usage of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, Bridge, image optimization for web, and other web authoring/motion graphic tools.

  • Knowledge of photo retouching and color correction.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, readily adapting to continually changing priorities, nuanced feedback, and aggressive project time frames.

  • Outstanding creativity in layout, design and typography. Impeccable design sensibility.

  • A thorough understanding of web production and the capabilities within digital and social channels along with a strong background in promotion and marketing strategies.

  • Strong Macintosh computer skills with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office software

  • Clear understanding of the Digital World. Must be fluid in UX on all social platforms.

  • Stays current with market trends to understand competitive landscape, as well as seek out new and emerging platforms that can help us grow our customer base and brand.

  • Excellent organization and follow through skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal direction, showing strong initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness.

  • Strong team player.

  • Office environment. Utilizing a computer over 55% of time; utilization of office desk - sitting, reading, listening or speaking with the ability to move intermittently throughout the day.

  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones.

  • Occasional travel required for Company business.
